In order to understand forensic enhancement software, it is important to have some basic image processing knowledge. In this series of five blogposts, we will explain more about basic terms that are at the roots of forensic image and video enhancement.

What are digital images and videos?

For a computer a digital image consists of basically just a couple of numbers in a certain grid that can be interpreted to display a colour on the computer screen. These images displayed in certain speed one after another, gives a digital video.
